Effect of mulching on soil loss and total N through erosion during upland rice planting season on latosol

Abstract Erosion is a natural phenomenon in the form of erosion upper soil surface by movement water, therefore conservation actions are carried out, one which provision organic matter. This research was conducted on Kemang Bogor latosol with slope 7, 9 and 14 percent given material mulch as much 3 tons/ha 6 spread evenly over surface, included mixed into soil. The results showed that application had significant effect loss total N through erosion. Giving can suppress more effectively. Applying to soils 7 still be allowed, while percent, it should tons/ha.
